I’ve been making my version of this green smoothie (?), juice (?) for years now since I first learned it from Mona Vand!
It’s a staple recipe for me whenever I feel like I need to get some extra nutrients in, want something light, feel a cold coming on, or if nothing else in the fridge sounds good.
It has fruit, veggies, and loads of antioxidants from the raw ginger and fresh lemon.
It’s fresh, it’s light, it’s unlike any other smoothie I typically make for myself, and it’s delicious.
Seriously, don’t be intimidated by the greens, it actually tastes amazing!
I hope you love!
Healing Detox Lemon Ginger Green Smoothie Recipe
Serves: 1
Ingredients:
1 cup water (or coconut water, or aloe vera juice — don’t use a milk substitute)
2 cups spinach, frozen (see notes)
1 banana, frozen (see notes)
1 apple, cored
Juice from 1 lemon
½ inch fresh ginger, peeled
What To Do:
Blend your spinach and your water first! This helps achieve a smooth consistency and that vibrant green color.
After you have a smooth texture with your spinach and water, add the rest of your ingredients.
Blend until smooth. Pour into your glass. Enjoy!
Notes:
You don’t need to use frozen spinach or frozen banana, but these help get the smoothie cold. I usually always have a big tub of spinach frozen and frozen leftover bananas. Otherwise, you could just use cold water if the rest of your ingredients are at room temperature.
Don’t use too big of a ginger piece or the smoothie will be spicyyyy. If that’s what you like then by all means, go for it.
